kick-off meeting september 2024
On the 4th - 6th of September 2024, the MyoTreat consortium held its kick-off meeting in Tübingen, Germany. Our Doctoral Candidates gave interesting talks on their myopia-related projects followed by vivid discussions. Valuable ethics and IP lectures and project implementation discussions complemented the meeting. The days in Tübingen were completed by interactive training of our Doctoral Candidates in good scientific practice and gender inclusivity.
On 24 May 2024, visitors experienced science and research at first hand at the Austria-wide Long Night of Research. The Paracelsus Medical University invited to an application-oriented medical journey through and around the human body.
One of its exciting topics was an insight into the MyoTreat project and its research goals, presented by the Doctoral Candidate Jahnobi Konwar and her Principal Investigator Prof. Falk Schroedl.

myotreAT meeting at ARVO 2024
At the beginning of May at ARVO* 2024 in Seattle, we had the opportunity to meet again and catch up on the latest news from our Doctoral Network. We had a nice lunch meeting at the Noi Thai Quisine restaurant.
Four members of our consortium - Christina Zeitz, Rigmor Baraas, Falk Schroedl and Caroline Klaver - presented their latest results in oral sessions on "Ocular biometry models and myopia development", "Myopia: mechanisms of emmetropisation and eye growth" and "Advances and current challenges in global eye health with the focus on myopia", while the others presented their work in poster sessions.

myotreat online opening meeting
The MyoTreat online opening meeting was successfully held on 26 March 2024. During the meeting, project-related management and implementation issues were presented and discussed, an introduction to the research topic was given and all 12 Doctoral Candidate projects were presented by their respective supervisors and discussed with the audience.
The meeting was attended not only by the coordinator team and the Principal Investigators, but also by 11 of our Doctoral Candidates, one Associated Partner representative, 4 external advisors and by our ethics advisor.
